1) RS finally passes NEET:

The Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 was amended to provide for a national uniform entrance examination, NEET, in all government and private medical colleges across the country. Some parties raised concern to put an end to capitation fees and application of reservation policies in private colleges. While some pressed the government to ensure that the test is conducted in all the 22 languages listed in the eighth schedule of the Constitution.

2) Lower House passes bill to aid banks:

The
Enforcement of Security Interest and Recovery of Debt Laws & Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Bill,2016 was passed in Lok Sabha. The legislation seeks to amend four laws- Sarfaesi Act, DRT Act, Indian Stamp Act, and the Depositories Act for faster recovery and bad debt resolution. The agricultural land has been kept outside its ambit.

3) Former UP CM's to vacate government bungalows:

Supreme Court quashed Ex- Chief Ministers Residence Allotment Rules, 1997, declaring them "bad in law and unreasonable" as the they were in contravention of the Uttar Pradesh Ministers (Salaries, Allowances and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1981. The bench was of the opinion that the state has no right to fritter away government property in favour of private persons or bodies without adequate consideration.

4) Andhra Pradesh will soon get its own NIT:

The NIT, Science Education and Research (Amendment) Bill,2016 was passed in the parliament today in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 to establish NIT, Andhra Pradesh which will be deemed as an institute of national importance. The former NIT of Andhra Pradesh went to Telangana after the state's bifurcation in 2014.
